Ph.D. Topic:

XRD Characterization of non-linear Optical Materials

Date of Regis: 04.06.2009
Reg. No. P8419
Viva-Voce date: 10.04.2018

Introduction about Ph.D. work:

Non-linear optical materials are of widespread interest for opto-electronic applications such as telecommunication, optical storage, and optical computing. The understanding of the electron density distribution of the non-linear optical materials is an utmost important thing for their potential applications. In this doctoral work, a detailed analyses of the structural properties, elucidation of the electron density distribution, optical properties, morphological properties, and the elemental composition of some non-linear optical materials only (not as the characterization of non-linear properties of the optical materials) have been carried out for the first time, using the powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), UV-Visible spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) have been carried out. These charge density analyses provide microscopic details on the charge distribution in the unit cell and the varied behavior of the material by the substitution of the dopants.
